Zozibini Tunzi crowned Miss South Africa 2019

Miss South Africa 2019 held its grand coronation night on 9th August 2019 at the Sun Arena where sixteen gorgeous finalists competed for the national crown. At the end of the coronation event, Zozibini Tunzi was crowned the new queen as she became the official representative of South Africa in Miss Universe 2019. This was the 61st edition of the national pageant.

A truly African queen, Zozibini performed with excellence and grace at the national contest. The 25-year-old beauty began her pageantry career with this contest and won her debut, showing her capabilities and proving to be a strong contender for the crown.

Zozibini’s court included the crowning of Miss World South Africa 2019 which was awarded to Sasha-Lee Olivier after performing with excellence and grace. The newly crowned queen will now represent her country in Miss World 2019.

From the sixteen finalists who began their journey, the number was cut down to ten as the competition progressed - Chuma Matsaluka, Danielle Wallace, Loren Leigh Jenneker, Errin Brits, Sibabalwe Gcilitshana, Eloïse van der Westhuizen, Nompumelelo Maduna, Kgothatso Dithebe, Sasha-Lee Olivier, Zozibini Tunzi.

As the conclusion was reached, the Top 5 were announced Eloïse van der Westhuizen, Nompumelelo Maduna, Kgothatso Dithebe, Sasha-Lee Olivier, Zozibini Tunzi.

Also in attendance were the reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray and Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters who were a part of the panel of jury. Miss South Africa 2018 Tamaryn Green crowned the new queen as her successor and now the pressure is on Zozibini to perform as well as her predecessor.
