Miss South Africa organization, through their official social media, announced the Top 12 finalists who have moved on to compete at the final leg of the competition as the finale will be held on 13th August 2023. The winner will go on to represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2023 and/or Miss Supranational 2024.
In a series of features, lets know more about the Top 12 finalists which consists of stunning and talented beauties. Keaoleboga Nkashe, from Itsoseng in the North-West, is an educator, student and model. She describes herself as a lifelong learner with a great sense of humour that connects people.
Nkashe is a kindergarten teacher and a postgraduate student at Moreland University and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in education. Born in Itsoseng, near Lichtenburg in the North West, Nkashe grew up in a close-knit family that comprises her older sister, father and mother.
Nkashe is an inclusion activist passionate about the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community and the rights of children. Her lifelong dream is to head up kindergartens across Africa, focusing on STEAM education.
Nkashe ultimately wants to become a humanitarian, so being Miss South Africa will help as a steppingstone to becoming that. Through her stint, she also wants to make art education available in disadvantaged communities. She grew up with these available to her because she lived in Boksburg but in Itsoseng such material isn’t provided for the children of the area.
This is Nkashe’s second stint at Miss South Africa pageant as she competed at 2022 edition of the national pageant as well where she placed as one the Top 10 finalists. On winning the Top 12 spot at Miss South Africa 2023, Nkashe wrote, “My parents named me KEAOLEBOGA which directly translates to I THANK YOU. It’s as if from the time I was named they knew how much I would be given and have to constantly show gratitude. And my goodness this evening I have so much to be thankful for.” Nkashe will definitely be a strong contender for Miss South Africa crown.
