Miss South Africa organization, through their official social media, announced the Top 12 finalists who have moved on to compete at the final leg of the competition as the finale will be held on 13th August 2023. The winner will go on to represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2023 and/or Miss Supranational 2024.

In a series of features, lets know more about the Top 12 finalists which consists of stunning and talented beauties. Melissa Nayimuli, age 27 years, hailing from Butterworth in the Eastern Cape has made it to the list as well. Melissa has a BA in Motion Picture Medium from AFDA and has majored in television writing.

Melissa was born in a multi-cultural home to a Xhosa mother and Ugandan father. She is a passionate storyteller and currently works as a television and film creative producer in Johannesburg. Melissa is passionate about finding solutions to unify Africans, break the stereotypes and celebrate diversity, as she believes there is more power and strength in unity.

On winning a spot in Top 12, Melissa took to her official social media as she wrote, “God did it. A once in a lifetime opportunity has happened twice for me, and for that I’ll be eternally grateful. I’m a top 12 finalist for @official_misssa 2023! What a journey, what a time. Thank you all so much for the outpouring love & support I’ve received, it is really humbling.”

Melissa wishes to spread awareness and stop the high rate of gender-based violence in South Africa. With her previous experience at Miss South Africa, her stunning beauty and her strong advocacy, Melissa will definitely be a strong contender for Miss South Africa 2023 crown.
