The Miss South Africa Organization had announced that the pageant is going under dramatic and exciting changes for the new decade. These changes are all part of an ongoing drive by the Miss South Africa organisation to grow the Miss South Africa brand and keep it relevant in today’s world. Rebranding includes the launch of a new logo with the tagline: Face Your Power. Embrace Your Future.
It is no surprise that 2019 was a massively successful year for Miss South Africa under its new management. It was praised for presenting the most diverse line-up of contestants in the history of the pageant, with the eventual winner, Zozibini Tunzi, going on to take the Miss Universe crown and capturing the imagination of people both home and abroad. Miss South Africa is no longer a once-off event but rather a year-round business, and a brand that provides both a leading voice for women’s rights and a platform to effect social change.

Stephanie Weil, CEO of the Miss South Africa Organisation, said, “Our contestants will not be just trained as pageant contestants, but also upskilled and shaped into champions for women’s rights, thought leaders, brand ambassadors and savvy career women with the tools to fulfil their chosen destiny. The pageant is the interview. The job starts when she wins. There is no other platform that elevates a young woman so quickly and with such an obvious trajectory to success.”
According to a statement released by the brand, Miss South Africa will no longer just be a once-off event but rather a year-round business, and a brand that provides both a leading voice for women’s rights and a platform to effect social change.
The new logo was launched on 6th May 2020 on Miss South Africa’s official social media page (Instagram) which consists of beautifully carved image of a beauty queen in white and navy-blue background. The image was captioned, “She has a powerful voice that captivates and draws people in. Her physical and emotionalstrength underpins her grit, commitment, and resilience. She is fuelled by her work for others but is dedicated to the wellbeing of her own body, mind, and soul. She is a born leader who trailblazes trend, discourse, and social change. Above all, she is someone who Faces her Power and Embraces her Future!”
The Miss South Africa pageant moved part of its selection process online in 2019, something that Stephanie says will continue in 2020. "We are fortunate that we started the online process in 2019 and intend to bring this to the forefront of what we are going to do this year.” The organization cleared that the main goal is to make Miss South Africa attainable and through online interaction this will make it easier rather than harder. They strongly believe that this year people will be engaging with and listening to the young woman who eventually holds the title of Miss South Africa 2020 more than ever.
A foundation will also be opened in the organisation's name. Details for this will be revealed at a later date.
