The 12th edition of Miss Supranational, i.e. Miss Supranational 2021, was held on 21st August 2021 at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater, Nowy Sacz where fifty-eight contestants competed for the international title and Chanique Rabe of Namibia was crowned the new queen, as she succeeded Miss Supranational 2019 Anntonia Porsild of Thailand, at the end of the event finale.
The newly crowned Miss Supranational 2021 Chanique Rabe’s court included four runner-ups. So, without any further ado, let’s meet the stunning court of Miss Supranational 2021 –
Miss Supranational 2021 first runner-up Karla Guilfú of Puerto Rico
Karla Guilfú is 23 years-old and hails from Isla Culebra. While reigning as Miss Supranational Puerto Rico 2020, she was pursuing her master’s degree in counselling psychology. She is a certified yoga instructor, model and beauty queen. She is a vegan and the chief executive officer and director of Comencemos a Sanar. She was Miss Teen Mundial Puerto Rico 2018. Later, she finished in the Top 12 when she represented Puerto Rico at Miss Teen Mundial 2018 in El Salvador.
During the final question-answer round, Karla was asked, "If you have enough money and power to do a global charity project, what would you focus on?" She answered the question confidently, "I would focus on creating awareness about the importance of mental health. I, have been through many struggles with my mental health and I know it’s not easy when you go through something hard. So, I would advocate the importance of education regarding mental health because that is the basis of a healthy and good society."
Karla is a strong, confident, determined woman who always likes to push herself for the better. Karla is beautiful and had impressed everyone with her confidence and determination throughout the competition, being one of the strongest contenders for the title.
Miss Supranational 2021 second runner-up Thato Thelma Mosehle of South Africa
Thato Thelma is 26-years-old and completed her internship at the Klerksdorp-Tshepong Hospital complex in Klerksdorp. She is an aspiring anesthesiologist who earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) degree in 2018 from the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
For the final question round, she was asked, "Cyberbullying is affecting the mental health of the youth. Take this moment to share a message with a young boy or a girl who is being cyberbullied." Drawing reference from her own life, Thato answered that, as someone who cyberbullied herself sometimes because of the industry we are in, she would tell the young boy or girl to ignore it. She added that "most bullies are going through a lot in their personal lives and are imposing the beliefs they have about themselves on you, and you should not believe the negative comments you get on social media. You should understand that the person is hiding behind in their way. So, for youth to move forward, we should understand that social media is just social media. Nothing that goes on there is accurate. "
An authentic, dynamic and compassionate woman, Thato showcased stellar performance during the preliminary competition and donned a very strong national costume. She made her country proud with her intelligence, diligence and grace.
Miss Supranational 2021 third runner-up Valentina Sánchez Trivella of Venezuela
Valentina Sánchez is 25-years-old and stands 180 cm tall. She is a radio and television producer as well as an international business expert. She had an opportunity to work for CNBC as a Digital Video, Strategic Content, and Assignment Desk intern for three semesters.
Trivella was the last finalist to answer the question during the question-and-answer round. She was asked, "Climate change is the biggest challenge the world is facing. Why do you think we, as human beings, are not taking it seriously?” Valentina answered, "I don’t believe, I don’t think, I don’t know why we are not taking this issue seriously. It is affecting millions of lives. I feel like there are many social issues, like global warming or mental health, that we should look at from a global citizen perspective, and what that means is being conscious of how each one of our decisions and actions has an impact on the lives of other people and the entire world.” She added that the past year has proved that it is true and now we should make a decision to be more conscious and cultivate respect for the world and other people in our everyday lives.
Valentina is confident, dedicated, and strongly feels that her story can help people. Along with the motive to give the invisible visibility. She is also a mental health advocate and wishes to spread awareness about the same in her country. Valentina continued to live up to the benchmark of Venezuelan beauties, with her strong, confident and determined presence.
Miss Supranational 2021 fourth runner-up Eoanna Constanza of Dominican Republic
Hailing from Distrito Nacional, Eoanna is 25-years-old and is a psychologist and works as a model. She aspires to have a purpose in life and with being an example to inspire girls and young people that no matter where you come from you should embrace your dreams more than ever.
In the final question-answer round, she was asked, "What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned during the global pandemic and how do you plan to apply it to your life moving forward?" Eoanna answered, "I think the biggest lesson I have learned from this global pandemic is to be close to my family and loved ones. I have learned that I must value them and appreciate every moment they have by my side. I will take that with me for the rest of my life and pass it to the other generations. I will appreciate whoever is by my side, family, children, everyone."
She strongly believes that success is dedication, hard work, and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen and want to be a successful beauty queen. Eoanna is someone who believes in the constant evolvement of a human being and that’s one of the reasons why she is one of the favorites for the title because her progress chart just goes up and manages to impress everyone.
