The 12th edition of Miss Supranational, i.e., Miss Supranational 2021 is all set to be held on 21st August 2021 at Strzelecki Park Amphitheater, Nowy Sacz, Malopolska where Miss Supranational 2019 Anntonia Porsild of Thailand will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

With just a day away from the finale, Miss Supranational Kenya 2021 Phidelia Mutunga has revealed her national costume for the competition, showcasing diversity and paying an ode to the tribal community in Kenya. Talking about her costume she wrote, “On the 22 July 2017 our honorable president announced that after the 43 tribes of Kenya, the Asian community would be also officially recognized as the 44th tribe in Kenya recognizing the community's contribution to Kenya from the dawn of the nation. My national costume symbolises diversity, unity and all-inclusive of the Swahili, Indian & Maasai culture.”

The Maasai are a Nilotic ethnic group inhabiting northern, central and southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. The Swahili people are a Bantu ethnic group inhabiting East Africa, third largest in Kenya and the Indians or the Kenyans of South Asian descent, commonly referred to as ‘muindis’ in Kenya, are now the country's 44th tribe.

The costume is designed by the extremely talented Kennedy Jhon Gasper of Philippines. The shield in her costume, is mostly carried by the Maasai people, suggesting the traditional ways of life in Kenya. The red is a symbol of the struggle for freedom, while white represents peace and unity. “My face was a representation of my fierce side and my commitment to keep raising my country’s flag high,” Phidelia added.

The idea behind this costume and its execution is pure perfection making it one of the strongest contenders for the award. The 23-year-old stunning beauty values morality and hard work and dedication which are strong attributes to look for in a beauty queen. She is determined to make her country proud at the international platform and pioneer its win in Miss Supranational.
