Miss Supranational 2022 Lalela Mswane arrived at the Gaborone's Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, Botswana for a two-day visit which marks the first time a Miss Supranational winner is visiting the country. Lalela was welcomed by traditional dancers and the twelve finalists competing for the Miss Supranational Botswana 2023, the first edition of the national pageant.

"I am overwhelmed by the warmth and the beauty of the people and I feel quite overwhelmed to see such strong, accomplished women sitting in front of me today. I want to remind each one of you that it's not the crown that makes you, it's you that makes the crown," Mswane said at a press conference.

Massie Hule, Creative Director of Something Big Botswana, also quoted, "We are thrilled to have the reigning Miss Supranational here with us. We promised something big, something fresh, and something exciting to Botswana and we don’t plan on stopping here. There's so much more to come.”

Miss Supranational 2022 Lalela Mswane will be crowning the first-ever Miss Supranational Botswana at the Royal Aria Convention Center on Saturday, 15th April 2023.
