The organization of Miss Supranational Finland hosted the coronation ceremony for Miss Supranational Finland 2021 on 11th July 2021 at the Ravintola Periscope in Tampere, Finland where Vilma Halme, who represented Joensuu, was crowned as the new queen. Vilma is going to represent Finland at Miss Supranational 2021 in Poland in August 2021 and has succeeded Miss Supranational Finland 2019 Viivi Altonen for the title.

Vilma is 23-years-old and stands 174 cm tall. She attended the University of Eastern Finland in Joensurr. She is excited about taking over the crown duties as Miss Supranational Finland 2021 and starting preparing for the competition.

Miss Supranational Finland 2021 Vilma Halme’s court includes:

First runner-up: Hanna Hakkarainen

Second runner-up: Naomi Anton

Audience favourite: Lily Korpela

The diva is dedicated and determined to performing her best on-stage and making Finland proud with her performance. She believes that with hard work and focus, anyone can achieve what they desire and she encourages everyone to do the same. In one of her posts, Vilma explains that beauty pageants are terribly questioned, and strong stereotypes are attached to competitions, and especially to contestants, but what people fail to understand is the fact that for preparing, a diva needs to be more than just good looking She adds, "It’s about self-pride, speaking, conversational skills, a willingness to help and make an impact. It is also often heard how degrading the race is for women. "

For Vilma, the beauty pageant is for feminism. She strongly believes that with the platform she will get to make her own choices about what she does with her body, whether it’s bikini touring on the Miss stage or something. She will not let her intelligence or dignity be diminished by society at any cost. She thanked everyone who was a part of the journey and stated that she had learned something or the other from everyone which she will cherish for the rest of her life. She was a part of Miss Suomi 2017 but she withdrew from the competition prior to the coronation night.

With Miss Supranational Finland, Vilma got to know the activities of the First and Shelter Association where she interviewed a violent work expert from the Association of First and Shelter Homes, Tuulia Kovanen. First and Shelter Association is a shelter that helps women and children who have been the victims of domestic and intimate partner violence. She wants to use the platform given to her to educate and spread awareness about the same.

Vilma will start preparing for the competition and is hoping to win the title for Finland.

Queen, congratulations!
