PNP Women’s Movement or the People’s National Party Women’s Movement (PNPW) is a movement of women advocating for the betterment of Jamaica's women, girls and young children. The movement is all set to host its annual conference on 17th July 2021 on their official Facebook page.

Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini TUnzi, who has emerged as a global advocate against gender-based violence is slated to address the conference as a keynote speaker this year. Jennifer Edwards, the outgoing president of the Women’s Movement, in an official statement said, “As we commemorate 48 years of serving women and girls through political advocacy, grassroots community building and legislative change on behalf of Jamaican women and girls, we are honoured to be joined by Miss Tunzi whose global work reflects the ethos and passion of our movement.”

“We have the honour of hosting a powerhouse in Miss Tunzi at a time when we need to inspire our women to use their power and lead the change; elevate their voice, defend their value and increase their participation in national life. Our conference will be buzzing with activity and interaction this year and I am filled with anticipation and excitement,” Patricia Duncan Sutherland, public relations officer for the Women’s Movement.

The conference is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am with a private session for delegates who will elect the next president of the movement with Tunzi, during the public session at 2:00 pm, in a live broadcast on Facebook. Jennifer also shared, “Our theme this year — 'Choose to challenge all shades of abuse' — aligns perfectly with her advocacy and our work. She is an excellent example of how to use the platforms we have to model the way and choose to challenge injustice.”

Zozibini is focusing on her advocacy which is about Gender Equality and with the help of social media, wants to reach out to people across the globe. She also explained that since we are fortunate to live in digital age; she will be using the digital platform to advocate about the women who are helping in such tough times and have been working hard to make a name for themselves in the world. In coming days, she will be sharing about the work her team and she has been doing for creating awareness for Gender Equality and for empowering women.

Since her crowning, she has been working relentlessly to make sure her voice reaches out to the core of the countries where women are not allowed to follow their passion and dreams. Zozibini wants to be a voice to those voiceless women who are told that they don’t have a future.
