The finale of Miss Supranational Japan 2022 was held on Saturday, 24th September 2022 at the Kanda Myojin Hall in Tokyo where Mayuko Hanawa was crowned the new queen. Mayuko will represent Japan at Miss Supranational 2023.
Mayuko Hanawa is 27 years of age and is of Japanese-Filipino heritage. She is a teacher by profession. Mayuko represented Ibaraki Prefecture at the national competition. Mayuko Hanawa was also awarded Top Model title.
Also at the end of the event finale, Ayano Shinkawa Miss Aichi 2022 was adjudged as the first runner-up while Riho Sasaki Miss Shizuoka 2022 was adjudged as the second runner-up.
A number of special awards were presented at the finale - Narumi Yamaguchi was adjudged Miss Photogenic, Ayano Shinkawa was awarded Miss Friendship, Riho Sasaki was awarded Miss Fitness, Eri Fujita was awarded Miss Elegance and Miho Sugawara was awarded Best in Social Media and Miss Personality.
A total of eighteen finalists were selected to compete at the national competition. Mayuko succeeds and was crowned by Miss Supranational Japan 2021 Rina Okada.
