Rose Manfere was crowned Miss Tanzania 2020/2021 on 5th December 2020 and became the official representative of Tanzania on the Miss World 2020 stage, but just a few days ago, the organization of Miss Tanzania announced the first runner-up, Juliana Rugumisa, as the official representative of Tanzania for Miss World 2021. The announcement was made via Miss Tanzania’s official social media account.

As soon as the announcement was made, there was a lot of speculation about why the first runner-up was announced as the winner and the winner who was crowned was not representing the country at the beauty competition. Replying to some of the fans online, Rose mentioned that she had no idea about the organization stripping her of her title and appointing the first runner-up to represent the country at Miss World 2021.

Seeking some answers about her representation, Rose Manfere arrived at the National Arts Council located in the Kivukoni area recently to find out her fate as Miss Tanzania 2020 as she was awaiting Basata's guidance for the competition. After the discussion, the National Arts Council (Basata) ordered that Miss Tanzania 2020 Rose Manfere should represent the country at Miss World 2021, therefore nullifying the decision to send the first runner-up to the contest.

But, in an interview, the Miss Tanzania organization’s representative, Azama Masango, stated, "Rose is still Miss Tanzania. She will remain with her crown. There are mistakes she made, but the committee’s decision has seen that she should not be Tanzania’s representative at Miss World this year. Juliana Rugumisa (first runner up), will go as the Miss World Tanzania representative as the agreement says that if the first winner fails to fulfill her responsibilities as per the contract, then the second winner will be the representative, but she (Rose) is still Miss Tanzania.
