The splendid finale of Miss Teen USA 2017 held on July 29’ 2017 at Symphony Hall – Phoenix, concluded with the crowning of 17 years old Miss Missouri Sophia Dominguez-Heithoff. Sophia succeeds Miss Teen USA 2016, Karlie Hay.
Her court includes:
1st runner-up - Oregon - Vanessa Matheson
2nd runner-up - Nevada - Alexis Smith
3rd runner-up - Indiana - Paige Robinson
4th runner- up - California - Jaanu Patel
Sophia Dominguez-Heithoff is a high school graduate from Kansas City, Missouri and a Kansas City native. The beauty says that she hopes to do major in political science and ethics in college. She also wants to attend law school.
Sophia loves to dance Ballet, run long distances, and enjoys travelling. She is passionate about her community, and enjoys working with the Disabled and aspires to work meticulously with the Best Buddies Organization. During the question and answer segment, she explained that during her Girl Scouts project she lobbied the Missouri legislature to pass a law to aid adults with developmental disabilities.
In addition to winning Miss Teen USA pageant, the beauty will receive a $10,000 scholarship and a $5,000 cash reward.
After the contestants’ introduction, the 15 finalists were announced who made it to the finals. The top fifteen went on to compete in the athletic wear category as well as the evening gown. After that, the group was narrowed down to five.
Miss Teen USA 2016 Karlie Hay took the stage once again for her final walk before passing on the crown to the new Miss Teen USA.
Sophia Dominguez-Heithoff will now become the spokesperson for various charitable causes on behalf of The Miss Universe Organization. May she fulfil all her duties and make a place in everyone’s heart.
