At the end of the event finale held at Teatro Nacional Rubén Darío in Nicaragua on 17th February 2018, Melanie Cruz of Cuba was crowned Miss Teen Universe 2018. She succeeds and was crowned by Shrishti Kaur from India, the outgoing queen.
As stated on the official website, ‘Miss Teen Universe is to create a beauty pageant involved in magic, glamour, and the fantasy of a production, that enhance the femininity of the teens in the universe, where the stage can be a dream and the delegates its protagonist; grasp and built friendships links between the countries participating; bring the opportunity to our contestants in the development of their qualities and abilities, and in the same way become an entity with a social mission for the less fortunate, create the concept of beautifulness with cause’
Melanie is not new to the world of pageantry as she was also Iconic Model Search Queen 2017. At the coronation ceremony, Melanie dazzled in a patterned golden gown, stealing everyone’s hearts.

At the end of the finale, Allison Robert of Mexico was declared as first runner-up and Kristy Gonzales of Dominican Republic was declared as the second runner-up. The top 6 were Puerto Rico, Panama, Ecuador.
