Nancy Gonzalez was crowned as Miss Texas USA 2017 on 4th September 2016 at Hilton Post Oak, Houston, Texas. This 26 year old beauty took all the challenges and emerged as a confident winner. Though Nancy Gonzalez was born in Galveston Texas, she is a Mexican at heart as hers roots are from Chihuahua, Mexico.

Nancy describes herself as fun, energetic, hardworking, down-to-earth girl who fights for every dream that she has. She has been modeling and has been in pageants since she was 17, but she started modeling at the age of 8. Modeling and pageants are her passion. Miss Texas USA 2017 title is evidence of her hard work and persistence.

One trait that absolutely describes Nancy is persistence. She thinks that to be successful you should be confident about being successful. After graduating from Brazosport High School as a Texas Scholar in 2008, she entered the University of Houston to study Supply Chain and Logistics. She graduated Cum Laude in 2014, becoming the first in her family to earn a university degree.

Nancy did not have an easy life. While attending university, Nancy used to work to pay her educational and every-day expense. Upon graduating, she was offered a job by Marathon Oil Corporation, where she served as an international procurement representative for their West Africa asset. Nancy’s aspirations include obtaining an Executive MBA, becoming an executive level manager, and eventually owning and operating her own business.

While Nancy is serious about her education and her career, there are certainly other more lighthearted and varied facets to her personality, interests, and activities. Describing herself as athletic, Nancy has participated in competitive softball and soccer, and has recently taken up kickboxing. She also enjoys water sports, especially wake boarding and surfing. She models and acts, and likes a good DIY project. Nancy likes coming up with random puns, and she is an unrepentant prankster.

Nancy truly believes that love conquers all and that love is essential in everything a person does. She holds high of her parents and believes that it’s them who inspired her to have the heart, the patience, and the love.  Becoming Miss Texas USA is a dream come true for Nancy. She embraces her win and uses this opportunity to motivate and empower other women. Describing herself as “driven, genuine, and ambitious”, she is ready for the next challenge, the dream of being crowned Miss USA.
