Ishika Taneja crowned as Miss Tourism India 2016-17

At the conclusion of the magnificent finale of Miss Tourism India 2016 held at the luxurious ITC Welcome Hotel Dwarka, New Delhi, India, Ishika Taneja was crowned as the winner. The gala finale was organised by Glamanand and the evening saw the gorgeous finalists clad in striking evening gowns.

Ishika is the Guinness World Record holder and by winning the coveted title, she has added another feather to her glittering crown. She is no stranger to the world of pageantry, as she is one of the in-demand celebrity make-up experts in the country. After winning the crown, Ishika has earned the right to represent the country at the Miss Tourism World pageant to be held in February.

Over six thousand entries were received for the pageant, out of which only ten girls made it to the finale. Nikhil Anand, the Founder of Glamanand Group announced the winner and former Miss India Universe Nikita Anand crowned the winners. At the same pageant, Divyani Jain was adjudged the first runner-up and Sonali Verma was adjudged the second runner-up.  All three girls will represent India internationally.

Ishika was a clear choice for the winner and with her unparalleled combination of beauty with brains she won over the judges and the audiences. Definitely, her vast experience in the world of beauty gave her an edge over other finalists and she nailed it with her vivacious personality and spirit.

In addition to winning the title, the talented Ishika also won the Special Award of "Miss Popular" and "Beauty with Brain". What really secured and sealed the title for her was her suggestion to capitalize on the country’s vast wealth of historic monuments. “The revenue we would create by ticketing all  monuments the way Italy and France will be phenomenal and by promoting tourism the country will create more jobs and shoot economic growth ” she said.

Ishika Taneja will be representing India on the prestigious platform of World Tourism pageant. The event will take place in February and she is leaving no stone unturned in preparing for the event. “I am proud to represent my country qnd training vigorously to get the crown home” she says.

Nikhil Anand, who also owns Miss Teen International and several other international franchises like Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Asia Pacific, said "The competition was tough but it is going to be tougher at the world level but I am sure Ishika, Divyanshi and Sonali will come out with flying colours as they are strong candidates beautifully representing India."
