Miss Universe 2016 pageant is on its road to the finale, and in three weeks Pia Wurtzbach will crown her successor. The finale of Miss Universe 2016 is slated to be held on 30th January 2017. Amidst all the hustle bustle and preparations, there is one thing that is keeping everyone glued to the updates in the unveiling of the National Costumes of the contestants.
The latest one is of Miss Universe Austria 2016 Dajana Dzinic. 21 year old Sajana is a student and the beauty will don a costume designed by the internationally successful designer Aviad Arik Herman. Dajana’s National Costume has been designed in honour of the 50th Anniversary of "The Sound of Music". The Sound of Music” is a musical with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. “The Sound of Music” is the famous 1965 film that won five Academy Awards - including Best Picture. It is considered to be the most successful music film in history. The topic is even more popular abroad than in Austria.

Talking about Dajana’s costume, the fabric of her skirt is printed with a scene from the film. Salzburg, the fourth largest city of Austria, is regarded as the home of “Sound of Music”. It was also important to record the press photos for this National Costume at one of the original filming locations of the Broadway film, the Leopoldskron Palace. Dajana was captured by the well-known photographer Ines Thomsen. Dajana shared her excitement about the National Costume and said, "The eleven kilo outfit exceeded my expectations, I am thrilled."
We have now come across few national costumes of Miss Universe 2016, and we must say that this year is going to be a tough choice for the judges to decide upon one clear winner. The national costumes this year are extremely creative and have captured the untouched essence of the respective countries.
