Miss USA 2018 will hold its 67th edition on 21st May 2019 at the Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. 51 candidates will compete for the national title where Miss USA 2017 Kara McCullough will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
The winner of Miss USA 2018 will represent USA at Miss Universe 2018. But before that, here are our Top 5 favourite contestants competing for the national title –
Miss New Mexico USA 2018 Kristen Levya
The 23-year-old Kristen Levya is a Mechanical Engineer hopes to use the role to inspire children, especially girls, to become engineers and scientists. Her mother was a single parent who became a mechanical engineer, and, in doing so, inspired her daughter to pursue the same career.
Kristen developed the #JustOne program, a reference to the idea that it takes just one role model or mentor to inspire a student to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering or math — STEM. She did this in honour of her mother, who battled with colon cancer and wanted to promote science among young students. She stands 165 cm tall.
Miss Nevada USA 2018 Carolina Urrea
The 23-year-old Carolina Urrea is the official representative of Nevada at Miss USA 218. Carolina wants to bring awareness to the community about the Nevada Partnership of Homeless Youth, an organization that offers programs to meet the survival needs of Nevada’s homeless youth to help them successfully transition out of homelessness. Carolina loves to travel and experience new cultures, food and people.
Along with her beauty, Carolina also understands the importance of her having a social responsibility towards her community. She actively supports the Gun Safety Movement and has spoken about it on her social media as well.
Miss District of Columbia USA 2018 Bryce Armstrong
The 21-year-old Bryce Armstrong has been giving her all to prepare for the finale night on 21st May 2018. Standing 175 cm tall, Bryce looks like the epitome of perfection and beauty in every way. She is an entrepreneur and a proud owner of Cakes By Ariel.
Bryce also makes sure that she promotes important causes through her social media, two of the most important ones being STEM Learning and women empowerment. She is definitely one of the front-runners at the competition.
Miss Alaska USA 2018 Brooke Johnson
The gorgeous beauty is 26 years of age and has Bachelors in Digital Cinema Arts which she completed from Lindenwood University. She stands 163 cm tall.
Brooke is the first woman from her state to work as a photojournalist at Coastal Television. Not only this, she is also an active member of a non-profit organization YEA (Young-Youth Empowered Achievers). As a peer leader, Brooke’s goal is to educate youth by implementing lessons in the public school system.
With her beauty and work with the society, Brooke is surely going to be a tough competition for the other delegates.
Miss Utah USA 2018 Narine Ishhanov
The 24-year-old Narine is an animal lover and works with STEM Action centre of Utah. The Armenian beauty is also pursuing Pre Dental at the University of Utah.
Standing 170 cm tall, Narine has been working with determination towards her goal of being crowned Miss USA 2018. With those beautiful looks and even beautiful soul, Narine sure is one of the strongest competitors at the competition. Her advocacy as a STEM educator is also going to help her in the competition as it has been the new way of learning throughout the country.
