Celebrating the life of Cheslie Kryst

The Miss USA organization has recently shared that family and friends of the late, Cheslie Kryst will be celebrating her life in an open to public event in Charlotte, New York City. The organization shared, “Our hearts are with them as they celebrate the life of our beautiful Cheslie. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Dress for Success.”

Remembering the diva, let us take a walk down the memory lane and cherish some of her achievements and memories. Cheslie Corrinne Kryst was an American television correspondent, model, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss USA 2019. As Miss USA, she represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2019 competition and finished in the top 10.

 

 

Kryst was born in Jackson, Michigan to a Polish-American mother and an African-American father. Kryst went to Columbia, South Carolina, after graduating from high school to attend the University of South Carolina's Honors College. She earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and human resource management from the Darla Moore School of Business in 2013, where she was also a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honour society, the Gamecocks women's track and field team, and mock trial.

Kryst went to Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, after finishing her undergraduate degree, and graduated with a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration in 2017. Kryst was also an attorney and had served as a correspondent for Extra from October 2019. For her work on Extra, she was nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards. She was also the founder of the fashion blog ‘White Collar Glam’, dedicated to helping women dress professionally in white-collar jobs.

 

 

The heartbreaking news of former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst's unexpected and unfortunate death shocked the beauty pageant business and her supporters. On Sunday morning, the 30-year-old jumped to her death from her high-rise condominium building in Midtown. Kryst's mother April Simpkins released a statement, where she stated that Kryst had suffered from "high-functioning depression.”

The unfortunate news left everyone shocked and devastated. Hundreds of lives were affected by this heart shattering demise of a beauty queen who left too early. Tributes poured in for Cheslie as her fans, supporters, contemporaries mourned her loss and highlighted the importance of mental health.
