Miss United Continents 2019 is all set to host its coronation night on 28th September 2019 in Ecuador where thirty-four contestants will compete for the international crown and Andrea Saenz of Mexico will crown her successor.
Before that, the national costume competition was held just hours ago where Ecuador took home the winning title while Thailand and Chile were adjudged as the runners-up. With amazing performances, here are our Top favourites, in no particular order, from the National costume competition –
Anairis Cadavid – Colombia
Anairis’ costume was called ‘Sierra Nevada’ as she walked with confidence and grace. Her dress was made in bright colours of Mostacillas and her costume was inspired by the Kogui tribe of the Creative Ethnic Ethics of Colombia book.

Kaithen Ahumada– Chile
Kaithen’s costume was called ‘The Atacameños’ inspired by the Atacameñoswho made their clothes themselves, using wool, leather of llamas and pelicans. They covered their heads with decorated hats, wore sandals and many ornaments such as rings, rings, necklaces and bracelets.
For this, the Chilean designer Alex Lermanda included several materials that resembled those used by this pre-Hispanic ethnicity such as earth tones, skins, imitation leather, wood, wool and bird feathers. She looked stunning at the competition.

Eliza Quiñónez– Ecuador
Eliza, who won the competition, wore a costume titled ‘Ancestral Ecuador: A look at our past’. Ecuador gives an exceptional history that tells the origins allowing one to see the past with legacies and ancestral knowledge. The costume showed the oldest and main cultures of the country, Valdivia, Jama Coaque, Machalilla, La Tolita, among others. She was the epitome of elegance at the contest.

Camila Luna – El Salvador
Camila wore the costumed titled, ‘Chasca: The virgin of the water’. The costume’s name comes from a character from a legend of El Salvador. According to tradition in the Santiago bar located in the department of Ahuachapán, the spirit of chasca appears in a white canoe with its beloved ACAYATL dressed in feathers, and a mantle in the form of an earring in silver and turquoise colours. Camila looked beautiful as well.

María Manzo – United States
Wearing a costume named Águila calva, Maria looked beautiful as well. The bald eagle was chosen on June 20, 1782 as the emblem of the United States of America, because of its long life, great strength, majestic appearance and also because it was believed to exist only in North America. Signifying that, the costume made sense and Maria looked confident wearing it.

Jerelleen Rodriguez – Philippines
Jerelleen wore a costume names Festival Bulaklakan which signifies the festival that celebrates the beautiful flowers of the country wherewomen dance in the streets in costumes adorned with flowers and other colourful materials. She was gracious on stage and mesmerised everyone with her smile.

Shreya Shanker– India
Shreya wore a costumed inspired by the Time sorcerer who reveals India's contribution in the education of the world. The costume is a whimsical representation of India's contributions from the beginning of world history to the present. This is represented in the final revelation of the disguise, where the book evokes that light that illuminates the world to unite with education. A brilliant concept, Shreya wooed everyone with her beauty.

Carmen Jaramillo – Panama
Carmen wore a costume named ‘The meeting of the Seas, Atlapa’. The Atlapa is the composition of the names of the oceans that bathe Panama: Atlantic and Pacific. The important convention and connection centre opened the doors in June 1980 and became the epicentre of Presidential Summits, World Conventions. Carmen looked absolutely graceful and elegant as well.

Maneerat Dangprasert– Thailand
Maneerat wore a costume titled ‘Wat Khanon's Shadow Puppet’ which xomes from 500 years of ancient Thai tradition, Nang Yai Wat Khanon (Wat Khanon's Shadow Puppet) in Ratchaburi Province, central region of Thailand, which has been awarded by United Nations or UNESCO as one of the 6 most prominent communities in the world for their work in the conservation of abstract cultural heritage. Winning the first runner-up position, she proved she is a strong competitor.
