Divya Yabindranauth has been appointed as Miss United Continents Guyana 2017, and the beauty will now represent Guyana at the Miss United Continents 2017 pageant. This will be the second time that Guyana will be competing at Miss United Continents. The finale of Miss United Continents is scheduled for September 23rd, 2017.

21 year old Divya is an aspiring model who is excited to be a part of the Miss United Continents 2017 pageant. Divya is not new to the world of pageantry; she competed in Miss World Guyana 2016 as Miss Barima Waini and won the Multimedia Award along with the People’s Choice Award. She also placed in the top three for the Beauty with a Purpose (BWP) segment of the competition. The beauty queen currently resides in Houston, Texas with her parents and two younger brothers, where she attended middle and high school.

During her High School, Divya actively participated in Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) program. HOSA promotes healthcare initiatives and works in developing medical skills for students. She has done volunteer work for her school and various communities which allowed her to come face to face with the need of the society. Divya currently works at W-Industries as an Administrative Assistant, and is also pursuing her degree in Business Management. In her free time, she makes frequent visits to children at local area hospitals, and engages in outreach programs through her church.

Divya aspires to help those who are struggling with providing adequate financial aid and medical treatment for individuals in dire need of medical care. Divya believes that winning the Miss United Continents title will provide her a platform for uniting people with a common cause and to promote the importance of selflessly giving back to society. According to her, winning the title would create visibility on a greater scale that will push the cause that she envisions.
