In the last decade, Colombia has placed seven times at Miss Universe, producing two runner ups and one winner. The very recent Colombian Miss Universe winner is Paulina Vega Dieppa. 23 years old beauty is turning out to be one of the most admired and popular celebrities in her country. Paulina was crowned Miss Universe in 2014 and the title has surely opened the doors of opportunities for the girl.
“It was an experience that changed my life and taught me many lessons,” as expressed by Paulina. Paulina shared that the journey wasn’t easy, as even though she was with other beautiful contestants, every girl was alone during the whole Miss Universe 2014 journey to the crown. For Paulina it was a huge responsibility to represent her country and culture around the globe.
She is currently a global ambassador for Stop Hunger Now Organisation. Paulina came across the Organisation during her reign, and since then has been deeply connected with the team and its work. She feels good to help raise awareness of the need to combat world hunger and raise funds and recruit volunteers to this cause.
Even after completing her reign as the Miss Universe, the beauty queen hasn’t stopped contributing her bit to the social causes. Apart from the social work, Paulina has also had many offers from the glamour and TV world. She played the host to the popular Colombian Television show ‘A otro nivel’. The show had a huge audience and Paulina was appreciated for her talent and skills. Paulina shared that the TV show was a chance that she took and that she wasn’t very sure about it. However, after her experience of attending various public events as the Miss Universe she was no more afraid of facing the cameras.
The beauty queen has also been flooded with various advertisement offers, and Vega is also the official ambassador for the global shampoo product ‘Pantene’. What Paulina loved about the product was that ‘Pantene’ through their campaigns and advertisements sends empowering messages to women.
