Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach recently received an award for being ‘Woman of the Year’ at the Xpedition Annual Gala Awards 2020 in Dubai. The diva had announced on her social media that she is flying to Dubai to join "some of the most inspirational people from all over the world" in the event organized by Xpedition magazine in partnership with Smile Train.

This was the second edition of the Xpedition Annual Gala Awards 2020 was held in the breathtaking Sonara Camp in the progressive United Arab Emirates city and the first was held in 2019 where Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray was awarded as the ‘Woman of the Year’. As for Pia, she has been one of the successful Miss Universe queens who has not only worked for the society during her reign but also after her reign as Miss Universe 2015.

The diva’s manager mentioned that she feels over-whelmed with the love and support she has received and feels very touched with the gesture. She has been an absolute example of how being a Miss Universe queen never stops even when you pass your crown. Pia is always trying new things and ways to help the society in whatever way possible and tries to make inspire the youth of the country to do the same.  She took to her social media and thanked the organizer by mentioning, “Xpedition Magazine thank you for the invitation and the award. 15 awards were given out tonight and I'm so grateful to receive one of them. Thank you for recognizing my efforts.”

Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong and Filipino British actor Bailey May also graced the event bringing outstanding beautiful examples of Filipina talent into the world. The annual event has been organized to honour and celebrate Filipino artistry for their contributions in their respective fields in the fashion and entertainment industry.
