Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 at 5:46 a.m. on Saturday (January 23).

In a brief press conference at the airport, Wurtzbach revealed she was not able to sleep because she was too excited.

She said she would “tear up a little bit” whenever she thought of coming home.

“Napakasaya ko na nakauwi na ko ulit dito sa Pilipinas, grabe para akong lalaban ulit,” (“I am very happy I was able to come home to the Philippines, it feels like I'm vying for the crown again.”) she said.

Her official schedule released by the Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. showed a busy homecoming for Wurtzbach from January 23 to 28.

Although Saturday would be her day-off. She will start with her official duties on Sunday (January 24) with a press conference with members of local and international media. She said she will share more of her experiences there.

The homecoming parade: Supporters can catch a glimpse of the beauty queen during her grand homecoming parade on Monday (January 25). It will start at around 2 p.m. and will take the route from Sofitel to Manila City to Makati City. From Hotel Sofitel, the route will pass along Atang Dela Rama St., Vicente Sotto St., F. Ma. Guerrero St., Bukaneg St., Roxas Boulevard, Padre Burgos St., Finance Road, Taft Avenue, Quirino Avenue, Gil Puyat, Ayala Avenue, Ayala-Makati Fire Station, then Ayala Avenue again, and Rustan's Makati is the last stop.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) had earlier warned the public of moderate to heavy traffic in these areas. The Philippine National Police (PNP) also mapped out a security and public safety plan to ensure order during the homecoming.

Courtesy calls: Before the homecoming parade on Monday, Wurtzbach will play courtesy calls on the Manila city mayor and the Senate, where she will receive the Citation of Excellence for her Miss Universe victory. She is also expected to pay courtesy call on President Benigno Aquino III at the Malacañang Palace on Tuesday (January 26).  This will be followed by courtesy calls to the offices of citymayors and the House of Representatives at Batasang Pambansa, where she will also receive the Congressional Medal of Distinction.
