Iris Mittenaere has been giving all her time in attending various events and supporting humanitarian projects. She has been doing all this with all her heart and has always marked her presence to spread happiness. Recently, she visited the ‘hospital for special surgery’ supporting the project sunshine.

She visited hospital and met the patients and presented them some of the goodies. On her visit, she said, “One of the best parts of being Miss Universe is getting to meet so many wonderful people and working with partners such as Project Sunshine. I am proud to bring the sunshine.”

She happily met the children & patients to make them comfortable. The hospital and staff thanked her for the unending support and love. The best part to watch was the happiness with which Iris met all the patients. With it, the beauty also volunteered the God’s Love We Deliver campaign to help the needy by cooking some tasty desserts as well. The recent gesture by Iris totally deserves applause as well.

Project Sunshine empowers a dedicated corps of over 15000 volunteers to bring programming- recreational (arts), educational (tutoring and mentoring) and social service (HIV and nutritional counseling) - to 100,000 children facing medical challenges and their families in 175 cities all over the United States and in four countries: Canada, China, Israel and Kenya.

Volunteers generously donate their time to create program materials and deliver programs. Working onsite, the volunteers relieve the worry of the young patients and in a context of fun and play, foster in them the courage and coping skills essential to confront procedures that lie ahead.
