Miss Universe 1978 Margaret Gardiner invited our reigning Miss Universe Demi Leigh Nel Peters to the upcoming Golden Globes and we are all way too steamed up to catch a glimpse of these two together on the red carpet!
On 20th December 2017, Margaret extended her invitation to Demi-Leigh in a Facebook post sharing how she feels that both of them connect on the same level, but they are just forty years apart by age. She began, “So I'm trying to see if Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters Miss Universe is in Los Angeles to be my guest at the GoldenGlobes this year. It would be such fun to have two women from SouthAfrica who are not about their outsides.” Margaret Gardiner has always simplified the beauty of a human being as not just pretty faces but being warm and true on the inside.
Also, Margaret penned down how they both shared the same Miss Universe titles and its importance of viewing the world with an understanding that the labels do not matter, what matters is the connections that people share with each other. She wrote, “That we both fall into the same subset - but almost 40 years apart - Miss Universe title holders - means we view the world with the understanding that no matter the label, or in this case, the title, interactions are about connections with people, warmth from the inside.”
She ended her post asking if she was in town on the event night and could join her for the night- “If she's in town and this happens the focus would be on two strong women sharing a fun evening of champagne laughter. Stay tuned."
The Golden Globes will take place on 6th January next year. Even though there has not been any affirmation from our reigning queen’s team yet, we are fervently hoping that both these strong women could make an appearance of a lifetime!
