Miss Universe 2017 Demi Leigh Nel- Peters to debut in ‘Supergirl’ movie

South Africa’s Demi Leigh Nel-Peters was crowned Miss Universe 2017 on 26th November 2017 at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. She is the second South African woman to win the Miss Universe contest.

Demi Leigh shared an exciting news for her fans on social media that she is now a part of a movie “Supergirl”. The diva uploaded a video on her social media account and stated, "I am here because I'm filming a movie - Supergirl. I have a teeny, tiny, baby role, but I'm so excited and so grateful for this opportunity. Demi-Leigh sounded very excited and happy to be a part of the movie and her happiness was clearly visible with her posts and videos on her social media. The diva has been working hard to achieve her dreams and goals. Her biggest inspiration and motivation come from her disabled half-sister Franje, who was born without a cerebellum. She passed away a few years ago but Demi remembers Franje as a sweet little sister and very recently shared a picture of her on her social media on her birthday.

Demi-Leigh who is passionate about a program she helped develop to train women in self-defense in various situations called the Unbreakable campaign. She was inspired to launch it by the attempted hijacking she experienced earlier this year in Johannesburg. The 24-year-old diva who recently tied knot to former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow in January 2020, after a yearlong engagement in Cape Town. The traditional ceremony included elements from both American and South African cultures and traditions. The color palate was white, gold, green and black. The beauty queen walked down the aisle in a custom – made gown from David’s Bridal accented by diamond and pearl earrings from Marion Rehwinkel Jewelry.
