Last night was the 66th Miss Universe Preliminary competition which was held at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Mezzanine, Las Vegas, USA. This is where all the competing girls showcased their ultra glam evening gowns and swimsuits while they walked on the ramp.

It is the most important pre-finale competition for Miss Universe 2017 as the semi-finalists (Top 15) are chosen on the basis of this competition alongside considering thier performance in the interviews. The judges for the night were Morgan Deane, Wendy Fitzwilliam, Megan Olivi, Bill Pereira, Cecilio Asuncion, and Isabelle Lindblom. And trust us; the girls have given them a hard time deciding who should qualify as semi-finalists for the finale night.

All the 92 girls paraded wearing Sherri Hill dresses during the introduction, bikinis in the swimsuit round and dazzling gowns in the evening gown round. The night started with Stefani Kammer, the event’s choreographer, who introduced the 92 contestants while calling them a sharp group of girls.

The girls came wearing glittery dresses in a group of four to introduce themselves, by calling out their names and the country they are representing. The night’s hosts were beautiful reigning Miss Universe 2017 Iris Mittenaere and Nick Treplitz. It was hilarious to see their funny banter while Nick Treplitz also cracked many Miss Universe jokes.

Though a little feeble if we compare this year’s preliminary event to last year, where there was a huge setting and a comparatively grand stage, all in all, this year’s  event went on to become a hit with the crowd cheering for their favourite contestants and the girls rocking the stage with their presence.

It would be interesting to see who will make it as semi-finalists on the basis of their performance in the all-important Preliminary Competition, when the results will be announced on 26th November 2017, the finale night. It’s surely the make-or-break moment for these girls.
