The current trending topic of the time is definitely the discussion over the venue of Miss Universe 2017 pageant. As per the latest reports, the pageant is scheduled to be held in the Philippines on 28th November 2017. 10 months after the Philippines hosted the Miss Universe pageant in 2016, the country is eyeing to conduct a back to back hosting.
Recently, Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo said, "We're still considering if it's a go or no-go. There are many factors that we have to consider, although we started asking for sponsors. We got lots of yes from sponsors, they're willing." She said President Rodrigo Duterte will have the final say on whether or not to host the pageant here again.
"We have to ask the permission of the President," Teo said. "I already flowed the idea that they would want Miss Universe to be here. And he said, you know, we're still hosting the ASEAN."

As per the recent updates, Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart will reach Philippines today (i.e. June 7) for the ceremonial contract signing. According to sources, DOT headed by Sec. Wanda Teo, will be signing a partnership contract with the Miss Universe Organisation to the staging of the 66th Miss Universe pageant at the SMART Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines.
