It was a moment of immense pride and felicity for the people of the Philippines when Catriona Gray was crowned as the Miss Universe 2018 in Thailand. By securing this win, Catriona became the fourth Filipina to hold the crown of Miss Universe.

The stunning Miss Universe 2018 is all geared up to receive a grand and exuberant homecoming welcome on 21st February 2019 around Pasay, Manila, and Makati and another glorious parade on 23rd February 2019 at the Araneta Centre in Quezon City. Former Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Jed Madela, KZ Tandingan, and Vice Ganda are also expected to be a part the grand celebration.

During a press conference with the Philippines media, Catriona opened up on the challenges she faces and aspirations she would like to fulfil as Miss Universe 2018. While everyone is able to see the glitter and glamour that surrounds her all the time, Catriona expressed that being Miss Universe 2018 is equally challenging as she is constantly travelling and is away from her home, friends and family.

The beauty queen is also extremely aware of the incredible opportunities and power that comes with this coveted title. She said, “I went from being a voice of the Philippines to the international audience.” She further added, “with that comes a little bit of pressure and also an amazing opportunity. And throughout the last two months, it's something I've been navigating with the guidance of my Miss Universe family and with the people surrounding me, the people who supported me.”

When asked whether she would choose between the Miss Universe 2018 title or love, the gorgeous diva chose the former. She said “The crown… it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. I’m a very focused person so I really do want to give everything I have to this journey.” She also expressed her inclination towards music. The Filipino-Australian beauty holds a Master Certificate in Music Theory from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. She wants to write songs, and collaborate with different artists and put some music out for the world to hear.

She is also ready to visit the beneficiaries of Young Focus, Love Yourself PH and Smile Train as she a strong advocate of helping poor children and people living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
