It was announced in January that Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray will be getting her own Madame Tussauds wax figure soon, both the beauty queen and the world-famous wax museum. Catriona announced the news herself by posting a photo of herself holding a fake eye ball – presumably as she picked which would be used on the wax statue and captioned the picture by stating "Stay tuned.”

Madame Tussauds Singapore said Catriona's wax figure will be wearing a replica of the now-iconic "lava" gown designed by Mak Tumang. The red gown, which took inspiration from the Mayon Volcano, was the gown Catriona wore when she was crowned. Madame Tussauds Asia Regional Manager Susan Ang said that the queen’s wax figure will first stay at Madame Tussauds Singapore in 2020 before moving to Madame Tussauds Bangkok and Hong Kong. The wax figure will debut in Manila.

Recently, Madam Tussauds organization organized a virtual interview with the queen where she answered the questions asked by her fans. Catriona answered the questions from her home and seemed very excited to be a part of the journey. She started of by stating that her wax figure was suppose to be revealed during the current time but due to the pandemic, the unveiling of her wax figure has been pushed further but she believed that this could be an opportunity for her to interact with her fans and answer some of the questions asked to her. Few lucky fans from all over the world got an opportunity to talk to the Miss Universe queen one on one and aske her the questions they have directly.  Let’s look at the few questions Catriona’s fans asked her.

Q: What went through your mind when Madam Tussauds approached you? And do you have a figure you would love your figure to stand next to you?

A: Catriona answered that she was in shock when they approached her. She explained that she was 13 years old when she first visited Madam Tussauds’ museum in London and she feels lucky that she did. She stated that she still feels its surreal to have her own wax figure but she also feels honoured as she is the third Filipino to have her wax figure at Madam Tussauds. She also said that if she can have one picture with a wax figure, it will be of Lady Gaga.

Q: What part of your journey being as a Miss Universe 2018 is your favourite and a memorable one and why?

A: Catriona answered that one of her most favourite moments is the work she did for the smile train as it took her to hospitals in the Philippines along with in Brazil and she was able to act as a spokesperson for them which she admires the most. Also, she mentioned that she met the family of the children as well so that is something that has always stayed with her.

Q: Where will the unveiling take place and will the press be invited?

A: Catriona answered that they will be unveiling the wax figure in Manila and travel to Thailand, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. She jokingly said that her wax figure will be a world traveller queen. She also mentioned that the wax figure will be unveiled in 2021.

Q: What inspired you to be a part of the organization you’re currently a part of?

A: Catriona answered that it was the platform that inspired her to work for them. She was a volunteer even before but she always felt like she could do something more and she was amazed to see that beauty pageants gives women who were empowered to voice out their opinions. The beauty queen mentioned that her participation at beauty pageant was very liberating for her as people knew her name and what she stands for and that’s one of the reasons why she joined in.

Q: Do you have a special diet or any tips to get body goals like you?

A: Catriona answered that everyone has a different body and some diets that work for some might not work for others. She also mentioned that since she has always lived with her mother and eaten only home cooked food, she has a habit of eating and making her own food. She also stated that she likes to eat fresh vegetables and fruits and knows when her tummy is full. Catriona lastly mentioned that it’s all about listening to your body.
