According to sources, Miss Universe organization will host its 67th edition in the beautiful country of Thailand and the finale will be held on 16th December 2018.

From the beginning of the year, Miss Universe organization has been trying to finalize the venue for its grand finale for the 2018 edition. Initially, Miss Universe Organization (MUO) was in talks to host this year’s edition in China. The talks, however, collapsed with China due to the refusal of broadcasting the pageant live by China because of the large time difference between Republic of China and the United States.

As the negotiations collapsed with China, the organization opened negotiations with the Philippines to host the pageant once again in the country after successfully hosting it in 2016. This also could not materialize and the country dropped the hosting bid due to budget constraints and other concerns.

Finally, Thailand has been selected as the official venue of Miss Universe 2018, and the official announcement for the same is expected to be done at a press conference to be held on 31st July by the Miss Universe Organization. Miss Universe 2017 Demi Leigh Nel Peters, President of Miss Universe Paula Shugart and other important people of the organization are expected to break the wonderful news to the media.

Thailand to host Miss Universe 2018

Once this is confirmed officially, it would be interesting to note that year all the Big 5 pageants (Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Grand International, Miss International, and Miss Earth) will be hosted in Asian countries namely, Thailand, China, Myanmar, Japan and Philippines.

Thailand's beauty Maria Lynn Ehren successfully represented Thailand in Miss Universe 2017 held in Las Vegas, where she secured a Top 5 placement at the finale competing with more than 90 beauties from around the world. Miss Universe Thailand 2018 Sophida Kanchanarin, who was crowned the national winner on 30th June 2018, will represent Thailand in Miss Universe 2018 and looks like a promising candidate from Thailand for this year's Miss Universe.

Miss Universe 2018 Finale in Thailand

So far, Thailand has hosted Miss Universe pageant twice in its history. In the year 1992, Miss Universe held its 41st edition in Bangkok where Namibia won the coveted title and in the year 2005 again, the pageant was held in Bangkok where Canada took home the prestigious crown.

Thailand has won Miss Universe title twice; in 1965, Apasra Hongsakula was crowned Miss Universe 1965 and in 1988, Porntip Nakhirunkanok brought home the coveted crown.

We are sure this announcement will come as a delight for Thailand fans, who will be able to watch the Miss Universe beauties perform live in Thailand! Are you looking forward to it?
