The coronation night of Miss Universe 2019 was held today i.e 8th December 2019 in Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, United States where Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa was crowned the new queen by the outgoing Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray of Philippines.
Like last year, the organization introduced the opening speeches segment where the Top 20 delegates came under the limelight and spoke about their advocacies to make their position in the competition stronger and a step closer to Miss Universe 2019 title. While all the Top 20 delegates were strong and fierce in the competition, here are our favourite opening segments from the event –
Gazini Ganados Miss Universe Philippines 2019
Gazini Ganados started off her speech by stating that the world is aging and her grandparents raised her and working with an organization that works on supporting the elderly care, she realized that there is a stigma between aging, poverty, invisibility and ecstaticity. She mentions that it’s our right to remember that they were the ones who made the way for us and we should reciprocate our love towards them and not leave them behind.
Sofia Aragon Miss Universe Mexico 2019
Sofia started off her introduction speech by stating that she became an advocate for emotional and mental health when she realized that her own story can help others to heal. She mentioned that she has written two books on “Human Empowerment” and have been giving conferences at various platforms including the TED TALKS to advocate people about mental and emotional health. This is now her life’s purpose. The Mexico delegate mentioned that if you don’t use your beauty for your life’s purpose then it’s just an ornament.
Cheslie Kryst Miss Universe United States of America 2019
Cheslie started off her introduction speech by stating that she flunked her kindergarten and was a quiet child. Since then, Cheslie has found her voice and earned three degrees, a job as an ExtraTV correspondent and a role as an Impact Ambassador organization for Dress for Success. She further states that no matter where you start, the possibilities of your future are limited only by the depth of your own imaginations.
Vartika Singh Miss Universe India 2019
Vartika Singh started off by mentioning that in smaller towns of India, bigger dreams weren’t meant for girl but she was a believer and a dreamer. With her non-profit organization she is providing healthcare to the people in need and due to that she landed upon the cover of Vogue magazine. She wants to tell every girl out there to believe in yourself and create your own story by embracing it.
Gabriela Tafur Nader Miss Universe Colombia 2019
Gabriela started off her speech by stating that her life’s purpose is to build a better and prosperous society. As a lawyer, she works for protecting the right of women who have been the victim of violence. As Miss Universe Colombia, she travels and provides Humanitarian help to the causes that needs help. She is committed to humanity and she will do whatever she has to make this world a better place.
