The 69th edition of Miss Universe i.e. Miss Universe 2020 will be held on 16th May 2021 in Hollywood, Florida. The competition will be held in the span of 7 days and all safety precautions for Covid-19 will be followed as the delegates will be staying at the Hotel Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, USA. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa who has been performing her crown duties with utmost sincerity and honest even in tough times like pandemic will be crowning her successor at the end of the event finale.

While the contestants and the organization are all set to put up a great evening, a memory from the past flashes back. On 16th May 1997, Brook Mahealani Lee won the 7th Miss Universe crown of USA in Miami, Florida. Exactly 24 years later, history has found an opportunity to repeat itself as USA’s Asya Danielle Branch is destined to step into Brook’s shoes to represent USA and bring the crown home on the same date and in the same state of Florida.

What are the odds that Asya might become the ninth American woman to win the Miss Universe title? Asya has accepted every challenge and opportunity thrown her way while encouraging others to do the same. She comes through as a strong contender and a potential winner.

Asya Danielle Branch was crowned Miss Universe United States of America 2020 and earned the opportunity to represent USA at Miss Universe 2020. Asya made history as she became the first African American woman to be crowned Miss Mississippi in 2018 but her list of accomplishments only increased as she became the first Mississippian to win Miss USA 2020.

 

 

Asya has been advocating for at risk children and criminal justice reform for the past several years. She has worked with government officials and the president on positively changing our justice system. Asya will continue to encourage the youth and be a voice for the unheard.

16th May will definitely become a much more awaited evening or the Americans in the hope to witness a lovely coincidence. With the voting now open, we hope Asya’s strong personality and potential uplifts her in the competition.
