One of the most rising names in the pageant world, Harnaaz Snadhu is definitely becoming an iconic beauty queen who has entered the 22nd year of her life as she will be celebrating her birthday today. On the special occasion, let’s get to know the reigning Miss Universe 2021 a little more.

Here are some interesting facts about Harnaaz Snadhu –

Born on 3rd March, i.e., 3/3, Harnaaz considers 3 as her lucky number and is also India’s 3rd Miss Universe titleholder.

Harnaaz was crowned Miss Universe 2021 on 12th December 2021 in Eilat, Israel at the 70th Miss Universe pageant.

Creating history as Harnaaz broke the spell of 21 years for her country at Miss Universe. Before her, Sushmita Sen won Miss Universe 1994 and Lara Dutta replicated the feast marking her win as Miss Universe 2000.

The diva began her acting career in the regional Punjabi film industry with ‘Yaara Diyan Poon Baran’ and ‘Bai Ji Kuttange’, which are slated for release in 2022. Apart from the big screen, she also played a cameo in a Hindi TV Series called ‘Udaariyaan’.

The queen is also fond of cooking and cooks a delicious almond berry halwa and saffron puri. Being a fitness freak and loving Halwa as one of her favourite desserts, it is a gluten-free and healthy dish that she likes to enjoy on her cheat days.

Deeply rooted with the Indian culture and the food, Harnaaz’s all-time favourite is the Punjabi delicacy called Makki ki Roti and Sarson da Saag, especially cooked by her mother.

Before being crowned with the responsibilities of Miss Universe, Harnaaz was currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Public Administration.

Harnaaz draws her inspiration from her mother, who broke generations of patriarchy to become a successful gynecologist and led her family. Driven to support other women the same way, Harnaaz grew up working with her mother at health camps addressing women's health and menstrual hygiene.

One of her hidden talents also includes mimicking, something that she also showcased on the international platform, where she mimicked a cat.

The diva is fond of writing couplets in her mother tongue Punjabi and also considers herself as a closet singer.

Harnaaz enjoys the company of friends, loves yoga, dancing, cooking, horse riding, and playing chess. She is a water baby and never misses a chance to jump into a pool to rejuvenate herself.

She is a strong advocate of women's empowerment, particularly their constitutional rights to education, careers, and their freedom of choice.

Harnaaz is passionate for acting and admires Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra as her role model. She also hopes to portray the lead role in her biopic, if ever made.

Harnaaz wishes to pursue acting and break stereotypes in the film industry. She wants to one of those actresses who are very influential, and who break stereotypes by choosing strong characters, being wise, and inspirational.

The queen, on her visit to India after the win, endorsed the Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu supports Smile Train 'Zor Se Bolo' Awareness Campaign for Cleft Lip and Palate launched by Smile Train India in honour of National Cleft Day, to raise awareness for individuals with a cleft lip and to let communities know that clefts are treatable through safe and accessible surgical care.

Sandhu recently made head turns as she attended the Bibhu Mohapatra fashion show, among others, during the New York Fashion Week at Spring Studios, New York City.

Sandhu was born in the village of Kohali in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, close to the city of Batala, to parents Pritampal Singh Sandhu and Rabinder Kaur Sandhu. Sandhu was raised in a Jat Sikh family.

In 2006, the family moved to England, before returning to India two years later and settling in Chandigarh, where Sandhu grew up.

In addition to her native language Punjabi, Sandhu is also fluent in Hindi and English.

Most recently the diva has shot the YouC1000 softdrink commercial in Los Angeles, which was launched yesterday.
