After a successful and historic win at the Miss Universe 2021 pageant, India’s Harnaaz Sandhu is back home and is now indulged in media interviews and public appearances along with some events being organized to honour the diva for the pride she has brought to the country.

The Chandigarh based, 21 year-old diva, who brought the crown home after 21 years has opened up a lot about her future plans in recent interviews. With such a great win, Harnaaz has received a lot of warmth and love from all over the world, but the backlashes are not far behind. She recently shared how a lot of people say that her win was because of her pretty face and how she tackled with them.

“I know the amount of effort that went behind it. Instead of indulging in argument, I’d rather work hard to make them realise my worth. This is the stereotype that I want to break. This [win] is a lot like an Olympic win. When we appreciate a sports-person who represents the country, why can’t we appreciate beauty pageant winners? However, mindsets are changing, and I am happy to be breaking stereotypes already,” she shared.

She also expressed her wish to pursue acting and break stereotypes in the film industry as well. “I don’t want to be a normal actress. I want to be one of those who are very influential, and who break stereotypes by choosing strong characters, being wise, and inspirational,” she added.

The young and talented lady has already featured in Punjabi regional film, ‘Yaara Diyan Poo Baran’ and several other projects, but now awaits to make an impact on the big screen. Opening up a little more about her passion for acting and her admiration for Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the diva went on to share that she would love to portray the lead role in her biopic, if ever made. Harnaaz Sandhu's victory was lauded by everyone and Priyanka also expressed her happiness and praised Harnaaz.

Harnaaz, who’s been doing theatre for the past five years, also shared that a chance to work with Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan would be a dream come true and that she won’t think twice if an opportunity to work with SRK comes her way in the future.

She also shared that she would be open portraying the role of Catwoman if the opportunity comes to her. The Catwoman angle was introduced to the diva after she showcased her talent of purring like a cat at the international platform at host Steve Harvey's request.

When asked if she'd be DC character, Harnaaz told, “Why not? I am a person who is a strong advocate for women's empowerment and this is my vision. One of my passion is acting and breaking the stereotypes at the same time by choosing strong characters of what women are and can be. So, this will be the right thing to do.”

Harnaaz Sandhu is definitely a strong young woman who is paving her way upwards, breaking stereotypes and inspiring many along. She definitely has a lot of potential and will continue to make the country and the beauty pageant industry proud over the coming years.
