Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu, fulfilling her reigning responsibilities, recently talked about period poverty and the Global Menstrual Equity Accelerator (GMEA) at the Virtual Global Town Hall Stage. The event was presented by Global Citizen and the Foreign Policy Committee of Indonesia.

Harnaaz has been a strong advocate for women's empowerment throughout her reign. The stunning Miss Universe has effectively spoken about women’s constitutional rights to education, careers, and freedom of choice.

Harnaaz launched a coalition for menstrual equity in India in 2022, which will reach 5 million women and girls in 200 locations by 2025. Here is what she spoke –

The GMEA, through its campaign ‘Period for Change’, aims to fight against the period stigma, influence policy, and secure resources needed to end period poverty. Harnaaz urges people to support the campaign by working together, raising awareness, and increasing advocacy efforts.

Miss Universe queen also emphasized the issue of gender inequality, hoping that the G20 will step up its investments in ensuring that all its decisions and deliberation include a gender perspective. DDB For Good with this cause aims to achieve a measurable impact in the space of Period Poverty.
