After numerous speculations circling the pageantry regarding the host country of the 71st edition of Miss Universe, the president of the Miss Universe Organization Mrs. Paula Shugart could be beginning negotiations to host Miss Universe 2022 in Dominican Republic.
Just yesterday, a meeting of the approved Public Marketing committee was held in Miami, United States with executives from CNN, Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic David Collado and the president of the Miss Universe Organization Mrs. Paula Shugart.
Paula Shugart also met up with the president of entertainment and content strategy for NBC Universal Telemundo Enterprises Ronald Day. He took to his social media and wrote, “Great meeting!!! Finalizing details with the President of Miss Universe Organization in preparation for the upcoming Miss Universe 2022 announcement - stay tuned!!!”
Last time Miss Universe was held in the Dominican Republic was in 1977 when Janelle Commissiong from Trinidad & Tobago won the crown. It was also the only time Miss Universe was held in the country.
