Olivia Molly Rogers won the title of Miss Universe Australia 2017 on 29th June 2017 at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins St. In one of her recent interviews, Olivia admitted going through a lot of challenges in her life. She said, “I struggled with confidence and I was probably bad at ball sports because I was so scared to put myself out there and scared of failing. I have always put a lot of pressure on myself to do well academically and I was focusing on that.”

The beauty also described the essence of being a woman and said, “For me being a woman shouldn’t define your place in life. I think in this day and age, and in our country, that we have the freedom to be whoever we want to be, whether it be feisty, sassy, funny, intelligent, sexy, introverted, extroverted, whoever you want. For me it means staying true to yourself and living life the way you want to, not the way you think you should.

24 year old Olivia hails from Melbourne and is a speech pathologist, artist and model by profession. On being asked her views on what it is to be a Miss Universe Australia, she said, “It’s being a role model and using my voice for things that I am passionate about and hopefully helping young women in the process – and young men maybe – and also just having a good time. It would mean the world to me. I absolutely love Australia. I love being an Australian. I love going overseas and speaking to people and straight away they are like ‘oh my gosh, are you Australian?’ … that’s amazing. Everyone loves Australians, so be able to represent my country in that way would be incredible. I just hope that I can do our country proud.

The last time Australia won the Miss Universe crown was in the year 2004, under the representation of Jennifer Hawkins. Do you think Molly Rogers can be the next Miss Universe?
