Hillary-Ann Williams has been announced as the new Miss Universe Barbados 2020 and will represent the home country at Miss Universe 2020 stage. The news was officially announced on 14th November 2020 during the premiere of the “The Making of a Queen”, a televised production where Hillary-Ann Williams, and former queens Shannon Harris, Lesley Chapman-Andrews and Megan Theobalds starred in a two-hour presentation, which took the place of the customary pageant in front of a live audience.

Hillary is 25-years-old entrepreneur who owns her own Digital Marketing agency. She rose to national prominence as a delegate in Miss Universe Barbados 2019, where she initially emerged as a finalist and People’s Choice winner. Subsequently, after the reigning Miss Universe Barbados 2019, Shanel Ifill, received a lucrative modelling contract and had to step away from her title, Hillary was elevated to complete the last 7 months of the reign.

The diva just like a queen executed her reign as an interim queen during a global pandemic with style, grace, and an ability to pivot and adapt to an ever-changing world around her. The organization believes, “She epitomizes what the crown stands for, and we at Crown Events invite Barbadians from all around the world to join us in congratulating her on this incredible feat, and encourage you to give her all of your love and support on her road to the crown.”

During the televised show, she demonstrated unwavering professionalism, poise, grace, and creativity, all while navigating the unchartered waters of a global pandemic. She wants to use her platform to advocate for young people, especially young women who have experienced gender-based violence. She strongly believes that no child should be denied the chance to reach their full potential because of their gender, where they were born, or the circumstances they were born into.

Hillary is a firm believer in listening to one’s heart and following one’s passions, no matter what challenges lie ahead. She stands by a quote, “Don’t let someone else’s opinion or criticism sway you from your dreams or aspirations. Stay true to yourself. Whatever it is that makes you happy, just do it.” After she was announced as the new Miss Universe Barbados 2020, she took to her social media to share a gratitude message for everyone who has been there for her. She mentioned, “It’s such an honour to represent my country and I can’t wait to make each single one of you proud. For all those that have supported and followed my journey I thank you so much, big thanks to my friends and family that has been with me every step of the way. I couldn’t have done this without you!”

The diva has assured that she will continue to serve as the country as she was and work even more hard to prepare herself for the competition of Miss Universe 2020. She is beautiful, confident, and dedicated towards one goal that is to make the world a better place and make her community proud.
