The Miss Universe Cambodia organization is all set to soon crown the queen for this year’s edition as the pageant opened applications for aspiring divas from all over the country till 30th April 2022 at the Cambodia International Model office (CIM) at the Olympia Mall in Phnom Penh. Shortlisted applicants will be called in for a face-to-face interview.

Recently, one anticipated candidate has been emerging as one of the most awaited comebacks as both local fan pages and international fans have been interested in the return of Manita Hang, a 23 years-old Khmer-French hybrid beauty.

From Phnom Penh, Manita Hang has established herself as a successful model in Cambodia. She started her education from Lyçée Français René Descartes and holds a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance degree from CamEd Business School. She is also a fluent speaker of Khmer, English, French and English.

Manita is no stranger to pageants, she represented her country at Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2016 and placed as the second runner-up. She has not returned to pageantry since then, but all pageant fans in her country hope to see her return to the stage and furthermore represent the country internationally.

Manita's pageant expertise, mixed ethnicity, and therefore cultural experience, along with her breathtaking beauty, would undoubtedly make her a strong candidate for the national title, if she decides to compete.

Last year, Miss Universe Cambodia 2021 Ngin Marady represented the country at the international platform. Despite of a strong delegation and a highly appreciated performance throughout the journey, Ngin was unable to qualify as a semifinalist and finished unplaced.
