Miss Universe Canada 2016 Siera Bearchell gives back to her haters!

29 Jan 2018 | Camilla Suarez

Miss Universe Canada 2016 Siera Bearchell had it enough as she sent a message to all her haters who have been consistently body shaming her since her participation in Miss Universe 2016.

Siera wore a gorgeous pink bikini in one of the rounds at Miss Universe 2016, looking ever so gorgeous. Since then, there have been multiple false accusations about how she purposely gained weight to compete in Miss Universe pageant.  In fact, the picture that was circulated is a photoshopped version used by people who fat-shame women.

There is no reason for people to tell how a woman’s body should look like and that is exactly what Siera remonstrated through her post.

Siera, a body activist, took it upon her shoulders to give back to all those people who think it is okay to hide behind their screens and promote body shaming. As Siera rightly put it in words, “Women don’t need more reasons to question their bodies and doubt their confidence and self-esteem. Spread kindness. Love yourself. Love others. Be you. Be confident. Oh, and of course, there is beauty beyond size.”

Let us take a look at what our diva had to say –

IT’S BEEN A YEAR, yet I am STILL seeing this damn image on the left that supposedly represents me in the pageant world. Followed by comments like “FAT,” “????????????” “no more bodies like this pls,” “HORRIBLE,” “THE WORST,” etc. There is nothing wrong with either of these bodies. Both of these bodies are beautiful. You may have seen my rant about this on my story. ????‍??The reason I take issue with the image on the left, is because it is photoshopped to make me look bigger than I am. Since this has been the most popular image circulating of me, I have people who comment on my photos now, and say that I lost weight since Miss Universe and that I gained weight on purpose to compete at MISS UNIVERSE. Neither of which are true. ???? I then get people calling me a hypocrite and to accept that this is my body. Saying I don’t truly embody body positivity. Why do people feel the need to tell women what their body is and what it should be? Women don’t need more reasons to question their bodies and doubt their confidence and self-esteem. Spread kindness. Love yourself. Love others. Be you. Be confident. Oh, and of course, there is beauty beyond size. Xo. Ps. I love you all for support and love and being with me on this journey of self love. ?? ***the image on the right is from the @missuniverse website. You can find it there. In case the trolls are looking for more photos of me. #confidentlybeautiful #beautybeyondsize
