Miss Universe Chile 2020 Daniela Nicolás revealed her national costume ‘La Pincoya’ for Miss Universe 2020 a few hours ago. She took to her social media to share, “What everyone is waiting for is already real! I love it! I hope you love it as much as I do!” The costume is designed by the outstanding Chilean designer Eduardo Cerda.
The costume, ‘La Pincoya’ is inspired by the ‘Water Spirit’, an imaginary marine creature belonging to the mythology of Chiloe, in southern Chile. She has the appearance of a young and very beautiful woman, with long blonde hair, she has a completely human appearance. The Pincoya is said to be of incomparable beauty, be cheerful and sensual, exactly how Daniela’s look has been curated by her team.
The legend says that she appears from the depths of the sea, semi-dressed in a sargassum costume to dance on the beaches and that, through the orientation of her dance, she signals whether fishing will be abundant or scarce in the coming season.
Hailing from Copiapo´, Daniela is 28-years-old and is an actress, TV presenter and professional make-up artist. She is a journalism and sign language student and is currently completing a diploma in business and retail. The diva is an avid preacher of self-love and acceptance which she does through her social media account. She wants to use the platform given to her to be a voice for women who are made to feel that they don’t belong somewhere.
She wants to empower women not only in Chile but all over the world and help them to be able to work hard for their dream. She is a volunteer of the Corporacio´n Anacroj, which helps more than 800 children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis from all over Chile.
The diva is very confident, strong, and determined towards her goal and is very grateful for the organization and the delegates who have uplifted her and helped her to stay motivated throughout the competition. She has assured that she will perform her best to make the people of Chile proud at Miss Universe 2020 and is emerging as one of the favorites for the title.
Miss Universe 2020 will host the National Costume competition on 13th May 2021 with a live broadcast. Miss Universe Chile 2020 Daniela Nicolas will represent Chile at the 69th edition of Miss Universe on 16th May 2021 in the United States. The winner will succeed Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa for the title.
