At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Universe China 2016 held on 12th November 2016, Li Zhenying from Hunan has been crowned as the winner. Li Zhenying succeeds Miss Universe China 2015 Jessica Xue, and will now represent China at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant to be held on 30th January 2017.
Standing tall at an astounding height of 6’1”, Li will compete along with 100 other contestants for the coveted title, where she hopes to get crowned by the reigning Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. A total of 16 contestants competed for the title, and travelled to Bangkok for various Preliminary activities. The delegates were indulged in different photoshoots and also participated in fashion shows.

Started in the year 2002, Miss Universe China pageant has managed to produce some exceptional delegates for the Miss Universe pageant. In 2002, Zhuo Ling placed as the second runner-up at the Miss Universe pageant. Miss Universe China 2007 Zhang Ningning won the Special Award of Miss Congeniality. In 2011, Luo Zilin was titled as the fourth runner-up. Jin Ye in 2013 cracked the Top 16 slot at the pageant.
