Lisbeth Valverde was crowned Miss Universe Costa Rica 2023 at the finale of Miss Costa Rica 2023 held on 16th August 2023 at Estudio Marco Picado in San José. Lisbeth will now represent her country at Miss Universe 2023.

Lisbeth Valverde is 28 years of age, hails from San Ramón and is an entrepreneur by profession. The stunning beauty holds a degree in special education from the National University of Costa Rica.

Her social project ‘Manos Unidas Costa Rica’ advocates for education, inclusion, and the preservation of our planet. Not new to the pageantry, Lisbeth also holds the titles of Miss Centroamerican 2015, Miss Intercontinental Costa Rica 2016, Miss Costa Maya Internacional 2019, and Miss Panamerican 2019.

The newly crowned Miss Universe Costa Rica 2023 Lisbeth Valverde’s court included –

1st Runner-up – Natalia González

2nd Runner-up – Yoselyn Porras

Top 5 also included Catalina Murillo and Fabiola Calvo.

Lisbeth, through her official social media, also expressed gratitude as she wrote, “My word today is, Thank You. The girl who one day saw Miss Costa Rica from a can house, thinking it was an unattainable dream, today she is celebrating, proud of the woman I became and who, thanks to adversity, today is strong, a fighter and will shine for her , for fulfilling this life mission that many young people are inspired, that they fight for their dreams, study, work and always be honest to their roots and their essence because life rewards them.”

Lisbeth succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Costa Rica 2022 María Fernanda Rodríguez Ávila who represented her country at Miss Universe 2022 but unfortunately remained unplaced.

Miss Universe 2023, the 72nd edition of Miss Universe, will be held in El Salvador on 18th November 2023 where Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel of USA will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
