Lilja Síf Pétursdóttir was crowned Ungfrú Ísland 2023 at the finals of the national pageant held on Wednesday, 16th August 2023 at Gamla Bíó in Reykjavík. As Miss Universe Iceland 2023, Lilja will now represent her country at Miss Universe 2023.

Lilja Síf Pétursdóttir is 19 years of age and a nursing home employee by profession. She represented the Capital Region at the competition and bested 15 other finalists to win the Miss Universe Iceland 2023 crown.

Also at the finale, Helena Hafþórsdóttir O'Connor was adjudged as the first runner-up while Kolfinna Mist Austfjord, Dagny Ósk Garðarsdóttir and Borghildur Birta Einarsdóttir were adjudged as the second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.

Top 10 also included Bahia Aurelie Ferro, Erla Dís Guðmundsdóttir, Helga Rós Arnarsdóttir, Daniela Dís Jörundsdóttir, and Tinna Lind Helgadóttir.

Lilja succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Iceland 2022 Hrafnhildur Haraldsdóttir who represented her country at Miss Universe 2022 but unfortunately remained unplaced.

Miss Universe 2023, the 72nd edition of Miss Universe, will be held in El Salvador on 18th November 2023 where Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel of USA will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
