Hrafnhildur Haraldsdóttir crowned Miss Universe Iceland 2022

Miss Universe Iceland 2022 was held on Wednesday, 24th August 2022 at Gamla Bíó in downtown Reykjavik where Hrafnhildur Haraldsdóttir was crowned the new queen as she became the official representative of Iceland at Miss Universe 2022.

Hrafnhildur Haraldsdóttir represented East Reykjavík at the national contest. She bested fifteen other finalists to win the crown. Hrafnhildur is 18 years of age and a student at the Commercial College of Iceland (Verzlunarskóli Íslands). In the future, she wishes to go on to study medicine after graduation and become a doctor. Hrafnhildur was born and raised in Reykjavik. She loves to travel and see and experience new, exotic and exciting places. Her hobbies include figure skating, skiing, snowboarding, and traveling.

 

 

Also at the end of the event finale, Miss Northern Lights Isabella Þorvaldsdóttir placed as the first runner-up while the representatives of Northern Iceland, Alexandra Andreyeva Tomasdottir; Grafarholt, Þorbjörg Kristinsdottir; and Gullfoss, Elva Björk Jónsdóttir, were adjudged second runner-up, third runner-up and fourth runner-up respectively.

Top 10 also included Miss Midnight Sun, Karen Ósk Kjartansdóttir, Miss Akranes, Erika Bjarkadóttir, Miss Diamond Beach, Sylwia Sienkiewicz, Miss Western Iceland, Sunna Dögg Jónsdóttir, and Miss Njardvik, Maríanna Líf Swain.

 

 

The stunning beauty succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Iceland 2021 Elísa Gróa Steinþórsdóttir. Hrafnhildur will represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe. The final date and venue for Miss Universe 2022 is yet to be announced.

Iceland has yet to win the Miss Universe title since its debut in 1956. Its highest placement was first runner-up in 1962 with Anna Geirsdóttir. Lately, Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir, the first biracial woman to win Miss Universe Iceland, finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2019.
