Miss Universe Nepal 2022, the 3rd edition of the pageant, was held last night i.e. 25th August 2022 at Hotel Yak & Yeti in Kathmandu. At the end of the event finale, Sophiya Bhujel was crowned the new queen as she became the official representative of Nepal at Miss Universe 2022.

Sophiya Bhujel is 26 years of age and holds a degree in business management. She bested 19 other finalists to win her national title. Born and raised in Kathmandu, Sophiya stands 5 feet 8 inches tall. Not new to the pageantry, Sophiya represented Nepal at Global Asian Model 2019 and finished in Top 10. She then represented Nepal at Miss Eco International 2022 and finished in Top 21.

Also at the end of the event finale, Bipana Adhikari was named first runner-up while Ashma KC finished as second runner-up. Sefina Joshi and Monalisha Parajuli were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. The pageant was organized under the leadership of former titleholder Nagma Shrestha.

Nepal debuted at the Miss Universe pageant in 2017 and its highest placement happened the following year when Manita Devkota finished in the Top 10. Sophiya succeeds Miss Universe Nepal 2021 Sujita Basnet who represented Nepal at Miss Universe 2021 but remained unplaced.
