Miss Universe Iceland 2021, the 6th edition of the national pageant, was held last night i.e. 29th September 2021 at the Gamla Bio, Ingólfsstræti 2a, 101 Reykjavík where Elísa Gróa Steinþórsdóttir was crowned the new queen at the end of the event finale. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Iceland 2020 Elísabet Hulda Snorradóttir.
Elísa hails from Garðabær, Capital Region and attended Snyrtiakademían and Commercial College of Iceland. Not new to the pageantry, Elisa competed against 23 other candidates at Miss Universe Iceland 2015 but was unplaced. She also participated in Miss Universe Iceland 2016 where she was adjudged as the third runner-up. She was Miss Universe Iceland 2017 second runner-up. As Miss Eco Iceland 2019, she represented Iceland at Miss Eco International 2019 in Cairo, Egypt but remained unplaced.
Also at the finale, Íris Freyja Salguero Kristínardóttir representing Crystal Beach was crowned Miss Supranational Iceland 2021 and became the official representative of Iceland at the upcoming edition of Miss Supranational. Hulda Vigdísardóttir, Elva Björk Jónsdóttir and Elin Stelludóttir were adjudged first, second and third runners-up respectively.
