Growing up she felt like an outsider as she did not witness many women like her in media and especially in pageantry, which is why she hopes to be a role model for girls like her, who want to achieve a dream that they didn’t think was achievable by believing that despite all adversities and not giving up they can still achieve it.

Mariana aims to normalize conversations around mental health, to make it more understandable to every age. “You should not be ashamed to seek help and there is always hope. I know and I believe that this is one of the main reasons for most of the problems in societies, so I think by talking more about it we can definitely make a change,” she shared. Pietersz believes that her genuinity, level of empathy and willingness to help others makes her extraordinary.

Not new to pageantry the diva holds many titles including Miss Tourism Worldwide 2019, Miss Ecocw 2019 and Miss Avantgarde 2016. The diva is a dedicated advocate for women empowerment and wishes for more women to realize that helping another woman win, cheering her on, praying for her or sharing a recourse with her does not take away from the blessings coming to them.
