Miss Universe 2020 fever has begun as delegates have begun to arrive in the USA to begin their journeys. El Salvador’s Vanessa Velasquez, Colombia’s Laura Olascuaga and Philippines’ Rabiya Mateo met for the first time at the Filipino-owned O Spa and Skin Care in Cerritos, California.
The three beauties were there to film a video segments for the upcoming Miss Universe. With COVID-19 protocols still in place, not many fans were able to meet the beauty queens but those who came showered them with gifts.
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo arrived in Los Angeles on Friday night and she hasn't been able to go out of the house where she's staying due to jet lag. "I'm really dealing with the worst type of jet lag. Actually I haven't slept since 12 a.m. So my body is still adapting to the changes. It's really crazy. I'm having a hard time waking up and eating at the right time. I haven't been outside that much because I need to be isolated as much as possible, just to be safe. But I've tried several food here in California”, she said.
On meeting the other beauties, Rabiya expressed, “It feels great. I saw Vanessa first, Miss El Salvador. And both of them, they are gorgeous, they are lovely. I am excited to meet other candidates as well."
Miss Universe 2020 is all set to be held on 16th May 2021 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States where Zozibini Tunzi will crown her successor at the end of event finale.
